Silmäasema
If needed, a Silmäasema patient coordinator can help you find the contact details of the Patient Ombudsman for your own wellbeing services county.
The patient ombudsman service for private healthcare providers ended on 1 January 2024 and was transferred to the responsibility of the wellbeing services counties (Act on Patient Ombudsmen and Social Ombudsmen 739/2023). At the same time, the title changed from patient ombudsman to Patient Ombudsman. Following this change, we ask our customers to contact the Patient Ombudsman of their own wellbeing services county when necessary.
Under the new legislation, the role of the Patient Ombudsman is to provide advice on matters related to the application of the Patient Act, and to guide and assist patients, their legal representatives, family members or other close persons in submitting a complaint as defined in section 10 of the Patient Act. Patient Ombudsmen also advise on how to initiate matters such as complaints, requests for rectification, appeals, claims for damages, or compensation claims related to patient or pharmaceutical injuries, as well as other matters concerning patients’ legal protection, with the appropriate authority.

The Patient Care Coordinator can be reached Monday to Wednesday from 9.00 to 15.00 on 046 920 3534 or by email at potilasasiakoordinaattori@coronaria.fi.
If you are dissatisfied with the care or treatment you have received at a Silmäasema unit, you have the right to submit a complaint to the unit where you were treated. You can submit a complaint using the form available on this page or as a free-form letter clearly stating that it is a complaint. For special reasons, a complaint can also be made verbally, in which case it will be properly documented. Complaint forms are available at our units, or you can complete and print one from this page.
The form should be sent to Silmäasema’s Patient Care Coordinator, who will forward it to the responsible person at the unit where you were treated. A written response will be provided.
