Silmäasema stores and eye hospitals have very thorough work routines and hygiene instructions in place. During the epidemic we are paying particular attention to the wellbeing of our staff and customers, the disinfection of surfaces and the cleaning of all our premises.
At the moment, there are no restrictions in terms of the age of the customer or importance of the matter.
If you are well you don’t need to cancel your appointment. If you have any flu symptoms, you should move your appointment to a later date. For details, please see the next questions.
Please stay at home until you’re better. You can move your appointment or cancel it free of charge via our customer service.
We have updated comprehensive instructions to our staff for preventing infections. We monitor closely bulletins from the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).
Our stores and hospitals do not serve customers who have flu symptoms. Our staff stay home with the cold symptoms and do not come to work if they are ill.
We pay particular attention to a high level of hygiene and keep our receptions and stores as uncrowded as possible. If necessary, we might ask the accompanying persons to wait outside the store or hospital. Surfaces, such as computer keyboards, phones and door handles are disinfected several times every day. We also instruct our customers to disinfect their hands before trying on frames.
Doctors clean their work tools and workstations after each appointment.
No, you don’t. If an appointment is cancelled on the same day due to illness, cold, or current national recommendations, you will not have to pay anything.
So far eyeglasses are picked up at the Silmäasema shop as usual. We currently operate with a reduced store network. Please check the opening hours here. Please also note that if you have flu symptoms, your visit should be moved to a later date. If the none of the stores near you are open, you are ill or you belong to a risk group, we can send the glasses to you by post.
